FAQ

How long do RV AC systems last?

Most rooftop RV AC units last 5–7 years depending on use, maintenance, and climate. If yours is approaching that age or no longer cooling effectively, replacement may be the best option. Replacing early prevents breakdowns during trips.

What maintenance does my RV generator need?

Routine maintenance is critical for long life: – Service every 150 hours of use OR once a year (whichever comes first). – Oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug checks are included in standard service. Skipping service can lead to expensive repairs or complete failure. We also offer yearly maintenance packages — be sure to ask about them!

What maintenance does my RV AC system need?

RV AC units should be serviced once a year for best performance and longer life. This includes cleaning coils and ensuring electrical components are working properly. RV AC systems are not serviceable with refrigerant — they do not have ports. If the sealed system develops a leak, the entire unit will need to be replaced. We also offer yearly AC service packages — be sure to ask about them!

Do you service LP (propane) generators?

No. We do not service LP (propane) generators. We specialize in gasoline and diesel Onan RV generators.

How do I know if I need service right away?

Call us if you notice:

  • AC blowing warm or short-cycling
  • Generator shutting down under load
  • Visible leaks or strange noises
  • Fault codes flashing repeatedly

Early service prevents small issues from turning into big bills.

What other services do you offer?
  • Preventive maintenance plans
  • Yearly generator maintenance packages
  • Yearly AC service packages
  • Generator rebuilds
  • AC replacements & thermostat upgrades
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Seasonal readiness checks
Do I need to run my generator regularly?

Yes. Run your generator at least once a month for 30 minutes under load (e.g., with AC running). This keeps fuel fresh, lubricates seals, and prevents moisture buildup.

What type of fuel does my Onan generator use?

RV QG 4000 → Gasoline RV QG 5500 & 7000 → Gasoline (we do not service LP propane models)

Diesel models → Require clean, treated diesel fuel Always check your model label before filling.

How can I make my RV AC last longer?
  • Keep coils clean
  • Replace or clean filters regularly
  • Park in shade when possible
  • Don’t overload the electrical system with too many appliances
How do I know if my generator needs repair vs. just maintenance?

Signs of repair needs include:

  • Hard starting or won’t stay running
  • Frequent fault codes
  • Excessive smoke or unusual noises
  • Tripping breakers under light load
Can you service me at an RV park or storage facility?

Yes! We are fully mobile and come directly to your site — no towing or moving required.

What payment methods do you accept?

We are a cashless and checkless business. We accept major credit cards, debit, and electronic payments only. Payment is collected at the time of service.

Do you offer warranties on your work?

Yes, we stand behind our repairs and replacements. Warranty length may vary depending on the part or system — we’ll go over details before service.

Onan Generator Fault Codes

When your generator has a fault, the status light blinks in patterns. The first set of blinks is the tens digit, then a pause, then the ones digit. Example: 3 blinks, pause, 6 blinks = Code 36.

Code Meaning Suggested Action
2 Low Oil Pressure Cutoff Check oil level and pressure.
3 Service Check Fault Indicates a second-level fault code is available.
4 Overcrank (no start) Cranking exceeded 30s. Check fuel, spark, air, wiring.
12 Overvoltage Controller unable to maintain rated voltage.
13 Undervoltage Controller unable to maintain rated voltage. Reduce load.
14 Overfrequency Engine running too fast.
15 Underfrequency Engine running too slow.
19 Governor Actuator Fault Open/short in speed control actuator circuit.
22 Governor Actuator Overload  Running at/near full duty for too long. Reduce load.
23 Low Oil Pressure Switch Fault Oil pressure switch did not close as expected.
27 Voltage Sense Fault Output voltage sensing circuit issue
29 High Battery Voltage Voltage across battery system too high (>19V).
31 Overspeed Engine speed exceeded safe RPM (>3400).
32 Low Cranking Speed Battery or wiring issue; cranking <180 rpm.
35 Control Card Failure Microprocessor EEPROM error.
36 Engine Stopped (No Command) Engine shut down without command – fuel/spark issue.
37 Invalid Genset Configuration Wrong frequency/rpm ratio noticed.
38 Overcurrent (Field Overload)  High load or poor power factor. Reduce load.
42 Processor Fault (ROM) Microprocessor ROM error.
43 Processor Fault (RAM) Microprocessor RAM error.
45 Speed Sense Fault Controller cannot sense engine speed properly.
47 Ignition Fault Controller cannot sense ignition.
48 Generator Field Sense Fault Controller unable to sense field voltage correctly.
51 Processor Malfunction Microprocessor internal failure.
52 Fuel Injector Fault Open/short circuit in fuel injector circuit.
54 MAT Sensor Fault Manifold Air Temperature sensor fault.
56 MAP Sensor Fault Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor fault.
57 Overprime Fault Prime mode exceeded 3 minutes. Switch may be held.

This was the very best experience! Joe was able to schedule a next day appointment for no AC in hot Florida🔥 He spoke with my AC maker before, to determine what to expect. He was also able to get an added request done. I was in the hospital and couldn’t be there so he handled it on his own. He was even concerned that my cat was cared for…( she was;) I cannot say how great Joe was!!! #1👍🏻👌🏻🏆🥇🥇🥇

I was down on vacation from ga. an broke down on a Friday afternoon at 5 pm. Made several calls to hard shops and nobody could fit my 34 ft. RV in their shop or couldn’t look at it till Monday. No Worries told me he could do it on sar. At 10 am. And that’s when he showed up kept in touch the whole time and completed the work and has been working perfectly ever since. Even checked on us after we were back underway. Very satisfied with his work.

Joe was professional and punctual. He did not, however, come prepared to do the work because he did not bring with him the filter needed, and charged me for his driving around time to see the model and then go find it, instead of looking it up and obtaining it first, like my prior techs have done.
